Goals: We all need them and we all need to be realistic about setting goals. While discussing some monthly goals with fellow vintage clothing sellers, "Vinties", I have come up with a business goal for my online vintage clothing store. I needed a challenge and I have taken the challenge. Are you ready for this one?
I think I am. I know if I post it here, and make it a public challenge to myself then I might actually be able to keep it!
As of yesterday, August 22,2007, I am setting the goal that I list 1000 (one thousand) new products in my store by December 31, 2007! I am not sure how many of you have ever listed one single item on the Internet but this is a major accomplishment!
Why am I sharing this goal with you? 1) To make it public, so I will keep my pace. 2) To inform all of you, my great customers that there will be great additions to my online store. I mean like 1000 items in 131 days! 3) To give, you the customer, more options to choose from for this upcoming holiday shopping season. (If it is not in the store, then you don't know I have it in stock)!
I will add vintage dresses, evening dresses (stunning for the holidays), men's vintage, accessories. Please email request on special needs for the holiday season.
My question to you, my customers, is what should happen if I don't meet the goal? (I couldn't come up with a good enough answer, so I will let you answer). Please leave comments.
If your a "vintie", take on a challenge of your own for your business. Be bold, be challenging, be aggressive!
I cannot believe I just typed all of the above....should I publish it?
P.S. I added 19 items yesterday, so I only have 981 MORE to go! (I will keep you updated on the goal number).
